Using dualities in her work, in the form of contrast; transparent glaze over solid mass, scale; big over small and colour, she depicts divisions that gouge rigid lines on the land.
The Medieval Period is an influence in her paintings as are geometries and architectural lines.
“I create tension within the divisions in order to move the viewer to consider how and why these divisions are made. These lines point to the effect man has had on the natural landscape.”
The dualities theme is also represented in the visual planes. The aerial plane reminds us that we have to move back and evaluate the world from ‘God’s view’, in order to decide if humans are making morally sound choices. In the landscape plane we see the depiction of judgement through church and state and wonder about the disparity of society.
